Columnar Outsole Structure Inspired by Medieval European Architecture

An outsole with a strange, biomorphic silhouette, reminiscent of a bat crawling along the ground. Although the structure may appear unstable at first glance, its three-dimensionally interconnected arches distribute weight much like the arcades and rib vaults of Gothic architecture, creating a high level of stability.

The Phylon sole is fitted with rubber components at the base of each column. CPU-inspired detailing is incorporated along the sides, while large TPU components are set inside the arches, further emphasizing the complexity and structural beauty of the construction.

The upper features a minimalist knit construction. A fluid CPU component wraps around the boundary between the upper and outsole, blurring the distinction between the two. Components attached to the eyelets and checkered shoelaces add distinctive accents to the design.
