At the heart of grounds is the exploration of a strange world, from sole to silhouette - playful yet menacing, inspired by Japanese horror lore. The SS26 collection continues the brand’s fascination with the unsettling, this season probing deeper into the deconstruction of classic tailoring and the post processing of rusted jewelry and stained materials. Oversized insectoid sunglasses twist the wearer into bug-like figures, while elongated sleeves drag, drawn from kimono shapes, and obi belts are rebuilt from waste. Details such as stained socks repurposed as gloves and wired ties that writhe with a life of their own further distort the familiar. At the core remain the shoes: transparent soles and bat-winged platforms, the original spark from which the entire collection erupts into monstrous scale.

This season, grounds introduces its first ever heel silhouette: a bold evolution of elegance and innovation. Featuring a completely hollow heel, LOOPIE offers a lightweight feel while sculpting an iconic, architectural profile. A slightly pointed toe adds a sleek, modern edge, while crystal clear TPU construction and a durable rubber outsole balance refined beauty with everyday practicality.
LOOPIE NIGHT HIKECRYSTAL MEGA MOUTH
CRYSTAL, first introduced in the 25 S/S collection, can be considered the "final destination" of exaggerated forms. Its mega-sized outsole draws all attention to the feet, literally stopping people on the streets. This highlights a unique point: when drawn to someone’s feet, your gaze naturally moves upward, eventually examining their entire body rather than focusing on their face during first contact. This shift in perception is a core interest for grounds as a creator of footwear.
